Concept cars based on Civic Type R that Honda has unveiled discreetly during an event held in the UK. For example, after the OveRland concept for the rally, signed by Ralph Hosier Engineering, this is the Civic Type RR concept developed by Team Dynamics Motorsport, a Honda partner in BTCC.
The new Honda model is called Civic Type R and intends to show its innovative character on the hatchback segment. You can discover its modern aesthetics by viewing the photo. Atypical hatchback, the model Civic Type R pleases a lot of drivers thanks to its excellent quality / price ratio and for its declared benefits, starting with its low consumption (compared to the average of its segment).
Little information was revealed about the car, apart from the power and torque of its four-cylinder 2L VTEC turbo, which rose from 320hp to 406hp and from 400Nm to 500Nm, respectively.
This unique Civic Type R is equipped with Eibach dampers with lowered ground clearance, a Scorpion exhaust system and Cobra bucket seats, among others. Despite the modifications, it remains approved for road use.
The compact athlete is due to his young age fully up to date, which he underpins numerous front-wheel drive records on the racetracks of the world. So what does Honda send into the test? A veiled front indicates small corrections to the optics. So the outer air intakes look rounder, which would diffuse the rag rugged-looking front. Headlight and grill remain in their basic structure as usual. Even on the sidelines, we discover no changes.
The rear, however, raises the biggest questions. The rear apron is not taped and identical to the known variant. Here striking: The camouflaged rear apron. Despite camouflage, however, clear differences to the previous rear design can be seen. The indicated lateral air inlets carry horizontal struts, which are missing on the previous production model.
Still central and very distinctive: the three tailpipes. If you could keep the two prototypes for two new, different variants of the Type R, a third test vehicle brings together all the newly discovered elements on one specimen: small wing, new front and new rear apron. We suspect that the Japanese could expand the Honda Civic Type R facelift (2019) into a kind of model family.
