2016 Mazda MX-5 the beginning and the end

The Mazda MX-5 is a worldwide bestseller. The small Roadster sold since its first appearance in 1989 almost a million times. Recently, the fourth generation of the Japanese front - central motor car was unveiled, rolls from the third quarter in the merchant fleet by 2015.
Own worldwide race series
But when will the new race start? The answer to this question was now one of the craziest tuning fairs in the world, the SEMA show in Las Vegas Mazda. The carmaker stated there, that the new generation of the MX-5 (as already the current model) from 2016 will have a global racing series. The "global MX-5 Cup racing series" held then every year in North America, Europe and Asia. What are exactly on the plan, to be announced? But this much is sure: all racers will compete with identically equipped vehicles.
Intensive phase of development at the turn of the year
The final car specifications are not set yet. Mazda reveals only that the Cup race will be powered by a two-liter-Sky active-G engine with four cylinders. At the turn of the year 2014 / 2015 goes Mazda Motorsports in an intensive development phase and takes care of the right tires, chassis and transmission tuning, safety equipment and further weight optimization. The finished car with all the technical data will be presented in the course of the year 2015.
The beginning and the end
What for the one the beginning is for the other end: the third and still current generation of the MX-5 enters the final season of the expiring in March 2015 "battery Extender Mazda MX-5 Cup". In October, the season ends and the "old" Roadster only at Club race will start from 2016.
