Tesla model 3 interior review and prices
Minggu, 22 September 2019
Launched in 2018, the Tesla Model 3 is the first true car produced by the manufacturer. This upscale electric family sedan offers a great deal of autonomy. Follow the guide to find out more about the battery-powered American, its equipment and its different versions.
While the traditional high-end German sedans are weakly converted to electric, and on rare versions, Tesla marks a clear break. The Californian manufacturer imposes here a Model 3 to the ecosystem anchored to the future, with a 100% electric propulsion, and a digitized interior as possible. The firm of Fremont takes the recipe of Model S, namely its timeless design, here more curves, with a reduced range.
What are the characteristics of the Tesla Model 3?
In the family sedan segment, the Tesla Model 3 has a five-door body, shorter than its sister model Model S (4.98 meters). Its length is 4.69 meters long, its width 1.93 meters, while the height reaches a maximum of 1.42 meters. Not having an impressive petrol engine in front, the Tesla hosts a second trunk of 117 liters, in addition to the trunk measured at 425 liters capacity. Because of its heavy batteries (over 500 kg), the Model 3 weighs about 1,847 kilograms on the scale.
Which engine to choose?
Two engines were available at the end of 2018, the so-called Grand Autonomy and Performance, joined by the Standard plus Autonomy in April 2019. The first two offer a dual electric motor "Dual Motor", associated with four-wheel drive. The Grande Autonomie sends approximately 350 horses, for a 0 to 100 km / h in 4.7 seconds and a top speed of 233 km / h. The unbridled version "Performance" climbs to a cavalry of 450 horses, for acceleration 0-100 km / h in 3.4 seconds and 261 km / h peak.
Tesla Model 3 are equipped with the same batteries of 75 kWh, or 560 kilometers for the Great Autonomy and 530 km for the Performance. The out-of-home charging is up to 250 kW of power on specific terminals Superchargers. The latter, more than 500 in France in 65 stations, can recover 80% of battery in less than 30 minutes. For slow charging, Tesla delivers a Type 2 cable and is expected to soon offer a CHAdeMO adapter.
The latest Autonomy Standard Plus variant has only one engine at the rear, with approximately 275 horsepower (or 200 kW). The performance is lower, with a 0 to 100 km / h in 5.6 seconds, while the smaller battery provides a range of about 415 km.
Model 3 Great Autonomy
Given the already very sporty performance, its more comfortable suspension settings and a few tens of kilometers of additional autonomy, this is the most reasonable version.
What type of gearbox to choose?
The specificity of an electric car is that it is always coupled to a lack of gearbox. Note that there are several driving modes associated with varying engine, steering, and traction control and brake regeneration responses. The Model 3 Performance also displays a "Circuit" mode playing on a "launch control" for even more impressive stops.
Which body to choose?
The Model 3 is a saloon fastback silhouette, so five doors, with a hatchback. No break or coupe on the Tesla program, but an SUV derivative called "Model Y" has already been introduced. This vehicle, very similar to Model 3, but with an optional seven-seater cockpit, will be open to current order 2020, with deliveries scheduled for 2021.
Which finish to choose?
At Tesla, there is no finishing, because each version has a unique configuration. However, this one is very complete confirming the high-end ambition of the Model 3. Among others, include the headlights with diodes, fog lamps, electric de-icing mirrors, and the panoramic roof. Precision, Performance stands out with a lowered box, a trunk fin carbon fiber, the interior adopting an aluminum crankset. The standard 20-inch wheels are paired with Michelin Sport 4S tires, and feature higher-performance brakes.
The interior of the Model 3 features the five heated front seats and electric front seats with twelve positions. Its stripped dashboard contrasts with the habits of automotive production. The steering wheel alone throne driver side, the controls being collected on the large central touch screen diagonal 15 inches. Everything is concentrated, including GPS navigation with traffic information and Internet connection via 4G network (one year offered), Bluetooth connectivity, four USB ports, not to mention the automatic air conditioning.
In terms of driving aids, the Californian has active emergency braking, forward collision warning and blind spot detection.
